The interior is charming and welcoming. I don't remember our servers name, but she was attentive, polite and enthusiastic. She explained the menu and the specials quite well. My friend had the grass fed beef burger, and I had the special of the day, the salmon burger. We were both pleased with our burgers and our glasses of wine! Their wine list was quite good.If your looking for a great little spot for lunch around Rockford, check this place out.

Nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy outstanding food! First time there. It won't be the last.

If you want an unusual menu, great service, and fair prices for food and drink, this is a top choice in Rockford. Small plates are a speciality. Don't miss the stuffed dates. Flatbreads are varied and tasty. Watch for special events too, such as the monthly wine dinner and the annual Beaujolais Nouveau celebration. Menu changed regularly and you can buy wine, beer, and spirits to go at a discount off the reasonable table price. A unique experience.

Small plate was good. Elegant and lovely place. Presentation of food was good. Food was tasty.

Stumbled upon this place driving through Rockford... what a great little find. Nice atmosphere and our food choices were delicious. Would definitely stop by here again

Absolutely love this place! The food is awesome 😋 The menu is wonderful ðŸ‘👠I haven't seen a place like this since I lived downtown Chicago 💜💜 Can't wait to go back! Oh did I mention the wonderful service & knowledge of the servers 💗

We were traveling from Eau Claire, WI to South Bend, IN when I accidentally came upon this place (off of I-90) in Rockford, IL. We were not sure if we were dressed for this restaurant (since it seemed kind of upscale upon entering and I had shorts on) but we were welcomed by the server. My friend loved his sandwich too. The waitress was polite and not over-enthusiastic which looked natural. My friend also ordered a cherry-coke which came in a throwback bottle. He claimed it tasted better than fountain ones. We paid about $32 + Tip, which I thought was not bad for what we got.

The food here is very good. The menu has a few staples that are always there when I visit, but they do add different items from time to time. You can choose small plates or medium plates. We had the buffalo chicken bruschetta which was mediocre. The chicken had the consistency of chicken salad, but would have been so much better as chopped or shredded chicken. The bacon wrapped dates were delicious as always. I had a small Five Forks salad and it was crunchy and delicious - not too much dressing. I also had the braised pork and dumplings (again) and I highly recommend it. It is different and the pork is very tasty.

I've visited this little spot about half a dozen times over the last 3-4 years, most recently this fall. It's quite small so there is certainly the prospect of a wait, but I've never actually had one; I'm sure that most of their business is as an upscale wine/liquor shop, and I think they do some catering as well. Not that the restaurant is an afterthought of anything but it's just a part of the business. First things first - if you're a beer drinker like me you'll want to know that they don't have any tap beer, but they do have a well chosen little (dozen or so) selection of bottles which typically includes a Belgian or two and otherwise mostly local brews. They have a tiny little bar - 4 seats I think - and they spend some time crafting mixed drinks of their own invention, so I'm guess they do more happy hour/evening business; I've only been for lunch.

Great lunch stop! Tempted by so many items on the menu.

This place is phenomenal. I ordered the steak and spinach salad. The best tasting salad I've ever eaten. The staff are friendly and the environment is welcoming. I highly recommend.

Bread service was tacky and cold who brings a basket of rolls and asks you to pick one. Filet quality poor tough rubbery and over priced.

Great food, service, drink selection. Desserts were good as well. Very expensive for what you get. Wife had scallops, I had the halibut special. Dessert was the gelato and Bread pudding. Food was incredible. David was the server and did a great job. Only thing keeping this from a five star rayingvwas the prices.

I have never tried the tapas thing before. Looking at the menu, the prices were higher than I would normally do, however, we tried nearly all of the "small bites" and a couple of the pizzas and street tacos, and for round two we tried almost the entire dessert menu. Simply amazing. While I am an extremely pick eater, there was not one thing I did not like. And everyone that goes here must try the salted caramel gelato. Wow. We will definitely be back here soon.

Local work colleagues recommended Five Forks Market so during a solo evening out thought I'd try it. While it is slightly pricier than some alternatives the choice was well worth it. Service was VERY friendly and my server was attentive at all times. Located in a strip-mall style setting, the outside is deceptive about the decor, look, and space inside. Food is prepared in sight, so there's nothing hidden in a back kitchen. They also have a very impressive wine selection. Food is of the tapas style, but a little more than traditional tapas. You likely won't be taking home your leftovers, but the quality of the food assures you want to eat all of it while there. Go early or on a weeknight because this place does get crowded - for good reason.

One of my favorite places in Rockford for a tasty meal.

Seared Ahi Tuna Salad! 😋

The food was exquisite and the service spectacular! I highly recommend the hummus platter and the Flatbread pizzas, they even accommodated my plant-based/non-dairy needs. They don't list a kids menu, but they had wonderful kid-friendly options, we chose the mac-n-cheese with fries. A great fine dining atmosphere and food experience, and all four of us ate for under $70!

Good service, interesting food, fun wine selection.

One of my all time favorite lunch spots to go to!! My daughter and I have always had exceptional service and amazing food. I always look forward to our lunch dates here.

Great food. Lots of options. Our particular waitress was a bit standoffish, but I can't speak for the rest.

I didn’t have the best experience but the owner Randy was extremely quick about reaching out to try to rectify the situation. Ownership definitely cares, which I respect and isn’t always the case.

I love Five Forks and have been visiting this establishment occasionally for many years... There's a great selection of wine and strong cocktails. The menu is also delightful and I've never had an item I didn't enjoy. The flavors are all classy and the chefs do a great job with freshness and presentation. I've also reviewed the sister restaurant: Baker Street Burgers. I will return to and recommend both!

Love their food. Menu changes between seasons and is great. Awesome desserts. Never had a problem with service or food. Been coming here for 4 years and been very happy

I came here one chilly evening based on a Yelp search. This is a small-ish place with a nice ambience. The thought here is that there are small plates and medium sized plates so that you order more plates and try more things. The menu is quite small. I started with bacon lollipops (small) and had the filet mignon (medium) for the main course. The bacon lollipops looked so good that I forgot to snap a photo before I ate them. They tasted just as good as they looked. The filet mignon was good also as it was served on top risotto served with gravy and some small carrots. Four stars!

Cosy restaurant with varied menu - small plates and larger mains. Average/small portion sizes for the price but decent quality. So fill up on the delicious hot bread rolls with oil/balsamic/parmesan dip! Drinks menu was good with innovative cocktails. Place gets quite busy, but waitstaff are friendly.

Quiet place with thoughtful dishes prepared with care. Extensive wine offerings as well.

Had my sisters Bridal Luncheon here and was amazing. Staff was great and so accommodating to last minute children attending and any food needs. Food was amazing and Betsy helped with ever detail and made it easy. Will be going back to try more of the menu.

It's a hidden jem in Rockford. Fantastic food

Nice decor inside. Enjoyed the soup and bread however the pulled pork was terrible. Fortunately they put very little meat in the sandwich. Cost me and my wife $30 and that was just lunch. Wont be back.

The staff is very Arrogant and Rude! we sat for nearly a half hour and they pretended we're not even there .
Susan Campbell
Great tucked away spot serving small plates. Everything we had was beautifully presented and easy enough for two to share. Don't miss the extensive wine selection- just pull a bottle off the shelf and they'll open it for you at the table.

What a wonderful place! Great food, drinks, wine, atmosphere! Will definitely go back!!

Really great food and wine prices...

Very small portion size-received delivery from Postmates. Food packaged in cardboard let the food get cold fast. 3 dishes order for 2 people to split wasn’t worth the $38.00-free delivery so total cost of food. Left us hungry.
David Kaplan
Good food. I like that they have different menu items compared with the typical restaurant in Rockford.

Service was excellent and food was really good. I was a bit surprised at the prices though. I had the trout and my wife had the flatbread. Definitely high end prices for a place that feels more middle of the road. Better than a chain restaurant though that’s for sure.

The food is great- an interesting menu with comforting foods with an interesting twist. The waitstaff is excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu, the wine (great selection and fairly priced). One of the best restaurants in Rockford.

Great little restaurant in the new style of a wine shop / restaurant. We had one of their flat breads and paired it with a glass or two of cab recommended by our waitress. They have a great selection of wines to go with the menu. Highly recommend this place.

I have visited here a few times for business lunches. The menu always has interesting items. The chorizo corn rice chowder is excellent. The service has been great every time. The prices are a little higher than other nearby restaurants, but the food is quality. The tables feel very close together, but since it hasn't been too busy anytime I've gone, that hasn't been a problem.

This is a place my former mother-in-law took us. The food was nice enough, but the hour plus wait with no temporary seating was a bit too much. The shop itself was a bit overpriced for this part of the state as well. Rockford is not Chicago or New York City.

Amazing food and experience! Truly top-notch in all regards. The chefs do a a fantastic job, and the staff is excellent. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
